Celebrating over 25 years of excellence
Superannuation Audit Services was established in 1996 with the aim of providing independent auditing services to public practitioners for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds. Since then, we have steadily built a reputation based on continued excellence and tailored personalised service. We currently audit approximately 1950 funds.
Although we have over 25-years of experience as SMSF auditors, however, our experience in the superannuation industry began even earlier.
Founding Partner, Denise Surjenko, previously worked at the Insurance & Superannuation Commission (Apra’s predecessor) where she specialised in the audit of self-managed super funds, establishing many contacts, a sound understanding of super and how to deal with the regulator. During this time, Denise saw the need for specialist and independent SMSF auditors. Denise also worked at Arthur Andersen in Corporate Superannuation Audit where she fine-tuned her auditing experience and commercial knowledge.

Denise's husband Daniel joined her in the firm in 2007, and both have been working together ever since.
Both Denise and Daniel are ASIC registered SMSF Auditors.
PERSONALISED SERVICE
A tailored approach to SMSF auditing
Our audit approach is tailored to best suit your individual requirements. We audit for a range of accounting practices, from the very largest to suburban practices and sole practitioners.
We endeavour to understand your processes to provide an efficient and cost-effective service.
For larger firms, we offer an on-site service, where we send one of our team out to your premises on a regular basis, or on a need-to-audit basis. This way the team member gets to know your systems, reducing the need to explain everything each time. Also, any issues are dealt with on the same day, so at the review process performed by the partners a few days later, the audit can be finalised quickly.
Alternatively, we offer an online service. When you have a fund ready, simply email us the information or upload it to DropBox, BGL360, CLASS or a similar platform, and we perform the audit remotely. Any queries are resolved by a quick email. We are experienced with all SMSF software packages.
We limit the number of clients we service to ensure we can always accommodate a 2-week turnaround time.
Our clients appreciate this very much, as they can bill their own clients quickly, not waiting months for the audit. This improves cash flow and client satisfaction with the service you provide. If there is a delay due to further information being required, we let you know early on.
